Description
This lecture examines commonly abused substances and their implications for anesthesia practice. Attendees will review the pharmacology, acute and chronic effects, and perioperative considerations associated with opioids, stimulants, cannabinoids, hallucinogens, and synthetic drugs. Emphasis is placed on identifying signs of substance use, managing withdrawal or toxicity, and adjusting anesthetic plans to ensure safe, individualized care for patients with a history of drug abuse.
