Communicating Effectively Under Pressure

A Nervous System-Informed Webinar for CRNAs

Date: February 24, 2026
Time: 4:00 PM PST / 5:00 PM MST / 6:00 PM CST / 7:00 PM EST
Cost: FREE
Format: Live with Q&A

You’re exceptional in the OR. You make critical decisions under pressure. You manage complex cases with precision and skill.

But when it comes to challenging conversations—with surgeons, colleagues, family members—do you sometimes find yourself shutting down, snapping back, or replaying what you should have said hours later?

You’re not alone. And there’s a reason why.

Strong clinical skills don’t automatically translate to easy conversations, especially when stress floods your nervous system. High-stakes environments train us to react quickly, but that same reactive mode can hijack our communication when we need clarity and connection most.

What This Webinar Offers

In this practical, 60-minute session, nervous system-informed coach Beth Batson, PCC, will guide you through simple, evidence-based tools to help you stay grounded, clear, and connected during the conversations that matter—whether you’re advocating for a patient, setting boundaries with a colleague, or showing up for someone you love at home.

You’ll learn:

How to recognize when your nervous system is driving your communication (and what to do about it)
Tools for setting clearer boundaries without shutting down or becoming defensive
Simple practices that support recovery after difficult interactions and strengthen connection over time

You’ll walk away with:

Communication reset tool handouts you can use immediately
A nervous system state checklist to build self-awareness
Reflection prompts for navigating work and home conversations with more intention

THE GOAL

Less reactive communication. More intentional, clear, and connected relationships—at work and at home.

This isn’t theory. It’s practical guidance you can start using the same day.

WHO SHOULD ATTEND

Find yourself replaying difficult conversations hours (or days) later, wishing you’d responded differently

Notice you either shut down or become defensive when faced with conflict or criticism

Struggle to set boundaries without feeling guilty or coming across as “harsh”

Feel drained after challenging interactions with surgeons, colleagues, or administrators

Want to advocate more effectively for your patients and yourself

Find that work stress is affecting how you communicate at home

Recognize you’re reactive in high-pressure moments and want tools to change that pattern

Are excellent clinically, but feel less confident in navigating interpersonal dynamics

Want to stop people-pleasing or overexplaining when setting limits

Feel like you’re “fine” in the moment but notice tension building over time
